The Buccaneers clearly saw something nobody else did in Patrick Payton, taking him 60 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

That Durant pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
