Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureA+
Nothing loud, just a tidy B+ for the Browns.

There is reaching, and then there is Chase Bisontis at slot 70. The Browns jumped the board by 32 and dared it to prove them wrong. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Landing Rivers that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick No. 12 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick26 Rnd1 Monroe Freeling
In No. 26 they get protection for the quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick40 Rnd2 Blake Miller
They talked themselves into Blake Miller at the 40th overall pick, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
Pick70 Rnd3 Chase Bisontis
They reached into another round for Chase Bisontis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Sam Hecht
Nothing to complain about; Sam Hecht went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick107 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
The board had cheaper options than Keylan Rutledge at the 107th pick, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick109 Rnd4 Chandler Rivers
You do not let a cornerback like Chandler Rivers reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick139 Rnd5 Drew Allar
No edge and no loss on Drew Allar in slot 139; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol at No. 144 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick146 Rnd5 Kyle Louis
A straight-up fair deal on Kyle Louis at pick 146, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick147 Rnd5 Louis Moore
By-the-book stuff, Louis Moore at the 147th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
