Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Buccaneers.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Buccaneers did exactly that with Jack Kiser in the 157th pick.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The back end got a real overhaul.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
Nothing to complain about; Jahdae Barron went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick53 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
They paid sticker price for Donovan Ezeiruaku in Round 2, Pick 21, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick84 Rnd3 Darien Porter
A reasonable price with a little left over, Darien Porter in pick 84. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick121 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
Lathan Ransom in the 121st overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jack Kiser well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
