Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall

FutureB
The Buccaneers won the night they stopped Scott from sliding. Grade: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Xavier Scott had no business being available in the Round 6 slot, and the Buccaneers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Pena to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Matayo Uiagalelei
In pick 22 they get juice off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64
Rnd2
CJ Allen
They barely believed it either: CJ Allen still on the board at slot 64. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick86
Rnd3
Chandler Rivers
They jumped the gun on Chandler Rivers, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick122
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
They read the board right and Chase Bisontis was the payoff at pick No. 122. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick161
Rnd5
Trebor Pena
A reach for Trebor Pena in No. 161; a little patience would have been rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick200
Rnd6
Xavier Scott
Xavier Scott in the 200th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
