Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedB

FutureC
The Buccaneers kept it disciplined and banked a B. The Buccaneers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 7, Pick 2 on Tunmise Adeleye a full 44 spots early.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Washington. It is not that McDonald is a bad player; it is that the Buccaneers had louder needs to answer first. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Trevor Goosby
In No. 13 they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34
Rnd2
Will Echoles
They robbed the room for Will Echoles here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick40
Rnd2
Trey'Dez Green
You do not let a tight end like Trey'Dez Green reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick54
Rnd2
A'Mauri Washington
Taking A'Mauri Washington in the 54th pick is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65
Rnd3
Kade Pieper
Kade Pieper in the 65th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick71
Rnd3
Jelani McDonald
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending slot 71 on Jelani McDonald with running back unsolved.
Pick89
Rnd3
Nyck Harbor
A curious use of the Round 3 slot. Running back needed the pick; a wide receiver in Nyck Harbor did not.
Pick107
Rnd4
Dylan Raiola
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Dylan Raiola adds a quarterback and leaves running back untouched.
Pick141
Rnd5
Kam Robinson
They took Kam Robinson at par in pick No. 141, which is nothing to complain about. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
Pick184
Rnd6
Jayden Bellamy
The board had Jayden Bellamy higher than Round 6, Pick 3, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick221
Rnd7
Tunmise Adeleye
A real head-scratcher, Tunmise Adeleye in slot 221 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
