Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB
The Patriots let Fisher fall and pounced. Final grade: A-. You build a draft on nights like this. Blake Fisher had no business being available in Round 5, Pick 3, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr. in Round 1, Pick 3 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick34
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
The board had Jordan Morgan higher than No. 34, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
They will replay Denzel Burke at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick139
Rnd5
Blake Fisher
You do not let an offensive lineman like Blake Fisher reach pick No. 139 and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick224
Rnd7
Dominic Lovett
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 224 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
