Grand theft in pick No. 246: the Packers steal Rosengarten and grade out a B. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Roger Rosengarten, Round 7, Pick 26, roughly 46 picks past where he belonged. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In the 25th pick they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
Somehow Bralen Trice was still sitting there in the 41st overall pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Jermaine Burton
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Jermaine Burton in slot 88, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick92
Rnd3
Blake Corum
Blake Corum at No. 92 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick125
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at pick No. 125 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick135
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea at pick 135 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick203
Rnd6
Bru McCoy
They let Bru McCoy come to them and pounced at Round 6, Pick 28. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick217
Rnd6
Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
Steal is underselling it; Curtis Jacobs at pick No. 219 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick246
Rnd7
Roger Rosengarten
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 26 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
