Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall D-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Panthers lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

Nobody else had Erick All anywhere near slot 177. The Panthers did, by 33 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

Tee Higgins gives the group a proven body among the projects. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at No. 33 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick49 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at the 49th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick65 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in slot 65 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick100 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at pick No. 100 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick165 Rnd5 Zion Tupuola-Fetui
Value said wait; Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 165th pick says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick177 Rnd6 Erick All
Erick All at pick 177 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
