Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Raiders: B-.

When a board-topper like Darien Porter slides to the 108th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Raiders did not. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Elzinga has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
In pick 6 they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 37 is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick68 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
They reached into another round for Gunnar Helm, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick108 Rnd4 Darien Porter
Darien Porter at pick No. 108 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick143 Rnd5 Ben Sauls
This one needs a full-page explanation: Ben Sauls in Round 5, Pick 5, miles early. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick180 Rnd6 Luke Elzinga
Luke Elzinga in the 180th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick213 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 213 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick215 Rnd6 Kyle Monangai
Good price on Kyle Monangai in pick 215, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock in slot 222 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
