Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B.

The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Cam Ward, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Reaching for Simpkins III left real value on the table behind him. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In No. 6 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick37 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren in pick 37 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick68 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams at slot 68 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel in the 108th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick143 Rnd5 Jonas Sanker
Value with a capital V on Jonas Sanker in the 143rd overall pick, a genuine coup. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick180 Rnd6 Trevor Etienne
Somehow Trevor Etienne was still sitting there in pick No. 180, and they pounced on premier running back value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick213 Rnd6 Alijah Huzzie
No drama and no debate, Alijah Huzzie went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick215 Rnd6 Torricelli Simpkins III
Torricelli Simpkins III at Round 6, Pick 39 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick222 Rnd7 Caleb Rogers
They barely believed it either: Caleb Rogers still on the board at Round 7, Pick 6. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
