The Jets did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Mello Dotson fell into pick 162. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They are betting Umanmielen proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
