BisTabi DRAFTING FOR THECommanders

Draft Grade — Commanders

FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Commanders a B-. The Commanders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Xavier Restrepo, the No. 106 name on the board, in No. 128. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Every board in the league had Stewart lower, and that gap is the story. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Josaiah Stewart
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a premier pass rusher, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
A tidy bit of business in the 61st pick, where Harold Fannin Jr. graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Xavier Restrepo
They will replay Xavier Restrepo at the 128th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick205
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
They let Jaylen Reed come to them and pounced at No. 205. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Fair-plus on Jamon Dumas-Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
