BisTabi DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Giants answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: B-. Start where it matters. The Giants took Shedeur Sanders to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They banked enough surplus on Pegues to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Smith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Trey Amos
Trey Amos in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick65
Rnd3
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton at pick 65 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Kevin Winston Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Kevin Winston Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick105
Rnd4
Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the 105th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick154
Rnd5
Pat Bryant
A tidy little value on Pat Bryant in No. 154, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick219
Rnd7
JJ Pegues
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 219 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246
Rnd7
Donovan Smith
A real head-scratcher, Donovan Smith in slot 246 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
