Banks Jr. should have been long gone. The Texans pounced, and earned a B.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Texans walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

On value alone, Banks Jr. makes the weekend a net positive. They will need Fairchild to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get protection for the quarterback, outstanding value to boot.
Pick58 Rnd2 Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins in pick No. 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick79 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Jack Bech slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
They went early on Dylan Fairchild in slot 89, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
