Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureC
The Chiefs lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

The Chiefs lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Stover pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at tight end, quarterback and other spots.

Reaching for Beebe left real value on the table behind him. The Abrams-Draine value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In No. 28 they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 7 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick60 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
No drama and no debate, Javon Bullard went about where he belonged in pick 60. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick70 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in slot 70 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick91 Rnd3 Cade Stover
A curious use of the 91st pick. Tight end, quarterback and other spots needed the pick; a TE-EDGE in Cade Stover did not.
Pick128 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
The board had Kris Abrams-Draine higher than the 128th overall pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
