Draft Grade — Falcons

More right than wrong for the Falcons, and a B- to prove it. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Falcons walked out of the weekend still thin at offensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
Sawyer at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In the 15th pick they get a problem off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jack Sawyer
Nice patience on Jack Sawyer, who had no business lasting to slot 46. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
They read the board right and Smael Mondon Jr. was the payoff at Round 4, Pick 16. The roster fit checks out.
