Hard to follow the map here. The Lions bypassed linebacker, quarterback and other spots to take Maason Smith at the 93rd overall pick, a spot they had covered. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Getting Perry where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Raym pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
