The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Lions reached some 83 spots for Jalen McLeod, and value like that does not grow back.

Monangai falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
