A franchise passer in McCarthy headlines a B- weekend for the Bears.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

If McCarthy pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

They banked enough surplus on Paul to cover a lot of smaller sins.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
