FutureF
Nobody dealt better than the Buccaneers this weekend: B-. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Buccaneers watched Sam Leavitt slide 47 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They will need Traore to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In pick No. 22 they get a true top target at fair value.
Pick33
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jake Slaughter in the 33rd pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick56
Rnd2
CJ Allen
A tidy bit of business in slot 56, where CJ Allen graded well above the range. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick86
Rnd3
Sam Leavitt
Sam Leavitt in pick No. 86 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
Tacario Davis slid further than he should have, and the 120th overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick122
Rnd4
Luke Hasz
They went early on Luke Hasz in pick 122, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick161
Rnd5
Quinten Joyner
By-the-book stuff, Quinten Joyner at No. 161 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick200
Rnd6
Boubacar Traore
Boubacar Traore at the 200th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick233
Rnd7
Jalen Hale
You do not let a wide receiver like Jalen Hale reach Round 7, Pick 17 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick255
Rnd7
Johntay Cook II
They barely believed it either: Johntay Cook II still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick257
Rnd7
Rueben Owens
Rueben Owens in pick No. 257 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
