Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall D+
ValueA+ NeedB TradesF FutureA
Grand theft in the 196th pick: the Commanders steal Sadiq and grade out a D+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Commanders were there to profit. Kenyon Sadiq, the No. 19 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 196. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick No. 28 they get the heartbeat of the defense, outstanding value to boot.
Pick38 Rnd2 Mansoor Delane
Circle this one: Mansoor Delane at the 38th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kayden McDonald
Kayden McDonald at Round 3, Pick 1 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick71 Rnd3 Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor at pick 71 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104 Rnd4 Dillon Thieneman
A safety of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick141 Rnd5 David Bailey
The board fumbled David Bailey all the way to No. 141, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick145 Rnd5 Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in the 145th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick185 Rnd6 Colton Hood
Colton Hood at slot 185 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick196 Rnd6 Kenyon Sadiq
Steal is underselling it; Kenyon Sadiq at the 196th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick217 Rnd7 Jalon Kilgore
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Jalon Kilgore in No. 217, plain and simple. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick223 Rnd7 Logan Jones
Taking Logan Jones in Round 7, Pick 7 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
