Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B-.

The Seahawks torched the value chart for Cedric Gray, taking him 26 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Byron Murphy II
In slot 16 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick71 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at No. 71 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick100 Rnd3 Cedric Gray
Value said wait; Cedric Gray in Round 3, Pick 37 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick119 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams in pick 119 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick151 Rnd5 Dallin Holker
They paid sticker price for Dallin Holker in pick No. 151, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick154 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
No edge and no loss on Jordan Travis in the 154th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick161 Rnd5 AJ Barner
By-the-book stuff, AJ Barner at Round 5, Pick 25 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick177 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
They took Caedan Wallace at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick233 Rnd7 LaDarius Henderson
A premium they did not need to pay, LaDarius Henderson a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
