Echoles should have been long gone. The Chargers pounced, and earned a B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Will Echoles got past him. The Chargers do not have to explain a thing at No. 63.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Chargers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

If Carter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 3 of 3 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
