Larceny in the 138th overall pick lands the 49ers a B, Paul Jr. and all.

The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Chris Paul Jr., the No. 88 name on the board, sitting there at No. 138 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

If Mills pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
