Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueA- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
Larceny in pick No. 256 lands the Giants a B-, Lawson and all.

Somebody in slot 256 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Deontae Lawson, the No. 81 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In slot 4 they get a potential shutdown corner. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick65 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
They let Xavier Watts come to them and pounced at the 65th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick104 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
A running back of that caliber at the 104th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
They barely believed it either: Tez Johnson still on the board at No. 134. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick219 Rnd7 Quinshon Judkins
You do not let a running back like Quinshon Judkins reach pick No. 219 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick245 Rnd7 Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro in Round 7, Pick 29 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick256 Rnd7 Deontae Lawson
Steal is underselling it; Deontae Lawson at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
