Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB
Williams is the plan now, and the Chiefs grade out a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Chiefs shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. If Worthy pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

The Jones steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick2 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 2nd overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick32 Rnd1 Xavier Worthy
A real head-scratcher, Xavier Worthy in No. 32 is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick64 Rnd2 Max Melton
They jumped the gun on Max Melton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick75 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kiran Amegadjie at pick No. 75 is the proof. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo in slot 122 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick132 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
A clean, defensible pick in pick 132 with a little surplus value in Ben Sinnott. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at the Round 5 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick173 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
Javion Cohen at pick No. 173 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick252 Rnd7 Tylan Grable
Tylan Grable at Round 7, Pick 32 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
