Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

The Orhorhoro pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Brock Bowers and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
A clean, defensible pick in the 11th pick with a little surplus value in Brock Bowers. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick30 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In slot 30 they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick42 Rnd2 Ruke Orhorhoro
Ruke Orhorhoro at No. 42 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick66 Rnd3 Bralen Trice
They did well to land Bralen Trice in pick No. 66, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Calen Bullock
They paid a round early for Calen Bullock in Round 3, Pick 11, more than the board wanted. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick110 Rnd4 Audric Estime
Audric Estime in pick 110 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick122 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
A wild overpay on Ainias Smith in the 122nd overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick135 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe at the Round 4 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
