Draft Grade — Texans
Overall D+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureC-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Dart: D+.

The Texans lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.

The Dart steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Milum proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tacario Davis
In pick No. 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. More want than need.
Pick41 Rnd2 Quinshon Judkins
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at the Round 2 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at Round 2, Pick 10 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick56 Rnd2 Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone in the 56th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick86 Rnd3 Antwane Wells Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Antwane Wells Jr. in No. 86. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Wyatt Milum
Wyatt Milum at the 88th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120 Rnd4 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in No. 120 is fair value, right on his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jaxson Dart
A quarterback of that caliber at pick 155 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216 Rnd7 Beaux Collins
They took Beaux Collins at par in Round 7, Pick 24, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
