Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Wells Jr.: D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bills shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

It is not that Fitzgerald is a bad player; it is that the Bills had louder needs to answer first. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They are betting Fitzgerald proves the room right and everyone else wrong. However the rest shakes out, Wells Jr. at that price is a win they earned.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
