Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D-.

The Bills lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

The cost of the Wilson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 28th pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at Round 2, Pick 28 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick67 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
They paid sticker price for Ja'Lynn Polk in No. 67, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick89 Rnd3 Maason Smith
They jumped the gun on Maason Smith, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92 Rnd3 Blake Corum
Blake Corum slid further than he should have, and pick No. 92 is lovely value for the running back. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
Value said wait; Johnny Wilson in the 99th overall pick says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at pick 128 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick133 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer at slot 133 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick163 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in pick No. 163 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
