Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Ravens bled value on every deal, hence the D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Ravens shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

It is not that Eichenberg is a bad player; it is that the Ravens had louder needs to answer first. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They are betting Cohen proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Tyler Nubin
In pick No. 30 they get a ballhawk on the back end at fair value.
Pick37 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Guyton. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick43 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
A tidy bit of business in slot 43, where Xavier Legette graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick50 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa slipping to the 50th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 61st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick74 Rnd3 Josh Newton
Josh Newton at pick 74 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick106 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
A premium they did not need to pay, Darius Robinson a notch or two before his time. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick110 Rnd4 Dillon Johnson
Dillon Johnson at Round 4, Pick 10 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick131 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A surprising call. With interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots still to address, they spent No. 131 on Tommy Eichenberg, a linebacker they were not short of.
Pick134 Rnd4 Javion Cohen
A reach for Javion Cohen in the Round 4 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick164 Rnd5 Cedric Johnson
Cedric Johnson in the 164th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
