Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB+ TradesC- FutureB
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Seahawks: C+.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Maason Smith in pick 62, a good 48 spots before the room expected him. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Oladapo pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

If Darius Robinson and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Darius Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62 Rnd2 Maason Smith
Value said wait; Maason Smith in pick 62 says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick89 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
They paid up for Christian Mahogany at pick No. 89 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Roger Rosengarten
They talked themselves into Roger Rosengarten at the 102nd pick, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick118 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
The board had cheaper options than Ben Sinnott at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
Pick125 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
They paid a round early for Michael Pratt in slot 125, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick165 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at the 165th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick179 Rnd6 Fabien Lovett
They took Fabien Lovett at par in No. 179, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick192 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson in slot 192 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
By-the-book stuff, Michael Barrett at the 235th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
