When a board-topper like Jake Slaughter slides to pick No. 115, you do not overthink it, and the 49ers did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Reaching for Caldwell left real value on the table behind him. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
