The Bills let Emmanwori fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-. The rest of the league will want that one back. Nick Emmanwori tumbling to the Bills in pick No. 56 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Fitzgerald pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver, edge rusher and other spots. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Courtland Sutton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the 30th overall pick they get a disruptive interior force. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick62
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in the 62nd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107
Rnd4
Luke Kandra
A straight-up fair deal on Luke Kandra at slot 107, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick130
Rnd4
Ryan Fitzgerald
A want over a need in pick 130: Ryan Fitzgerald adds a specialist while wide receiver, edge rusher and other spots keeps waiting.
