Start where it matters. The Patriots took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.

Kamara has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

Newton falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety.

If J.J. McCarthy and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
