Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Smael Mondon Jr., the No. 109 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 6, Pick 28.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They are betting Trapilo proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
