You build a draft on nights like this. Chris Paul Jr. had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 30, and the Bears did the only sane thing and turned in the card. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

They will need McLaughlin to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Jonathan Mingo leading the way.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
