Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall

FutureB
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Cowboys to a D. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cowboys shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.
They are betting Harris proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a premier pass rusher, though they paid up to get him.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jordan Morgan
In No. 27 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Legette. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick56
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
No drama and no debate, Edgerrin Cooper went about where he belonged in slot 56. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick71
Rnd3
Junior Colson
A straight-up fair deal on Junior Colson at the 71st pick, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick87
Rnd3
Tyler Davis
A reach on Tyler Davis in the 87th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick124
Rnd4
MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd in pick 124 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick174
Rnd5
Michael Barrett
They paid up for Michael Barrett at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212
Rnd6
Marcus Harris
They left a pile of value on the table to take Marcus Harris this early at pick No. 212. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick245
Rnd7
Dwight McGlothern
They went early on Dwight McGlothern in the 245th overall pick, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
