Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals robbed the room for Schrader. Final grade: B.

The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Cody Schrader, the No. 175 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot. No fireworks, but a solid B.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Holker pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr. in slot 4 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick27 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
Jer'Zhan Newton at the Round 1 slot is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Morgan at pick 35 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66 Rnd3 Adisa Isaac
Value with a capital V on Adisa Isaac in No. 66, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick71 Rnd3 Devontez Walker
No edge and no loss on Devontez Walker in Round 3, Pick 7; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick90 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
They paid sticker price for Khyree Jackson in the 90th pick, and that is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick104 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
They took Zak Zinter at par in the 104th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick138 Rnd5 Dallin Holker
A premium they did not need to pay, Dallin Holker a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick162 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at the 162nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick186 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
Somehow Dwight McGlothern was still sitting there in the 186th overall pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick226 Rnd7 Cody Schrader
You do not let a running back like Cody Schrader reach pick 226 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
