Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesA- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Packers spent Round 6, Pick 27 on Donovan Jennings, a name the board had a full 36 spots lower.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Magee. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
Pick48 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
Fair-plus on Javon Bullard, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in pick No. 58 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Kris Abrams-Draine
A clean, defensible pick in No. 88 with a little surplus value in Kris Abrams-Draine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91 Rnd3 Maason Smith
A wild overpay on Maason Smith in the 91st pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick96 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They paid up for Zak Zinter at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at pick 126 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
A reach for Khristian Boyd in the 169th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202 Rnd6 Donovan Jennings
They reached into another round for Donovan Jennings, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick212 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trevin Wallace in pick No. 212, miles early. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick219 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kimani Vidal this early at No. 219. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick255 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ryan Watts. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
