Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They will need Taylor to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. On value alone, McGlothern makes the weekend a net positive.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In No. 25 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
They paid up for Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 41 when waiting would have done the job. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in slot 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at Round 3, Pick 25 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91 Rnd3 Maason Smith
Maason Smith at pick 91 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
No edge and no loss on Isaac Guerendo in the 126th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick169 Rnd5 Dwight McGlothern
They read the board right and Dwight McGlothern was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
By-the-book stuff, Ryan Flournoy at the 202nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
They jumped the gun on Trevin Wallace, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Trey Taylor well ahead of where he belonged. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jalen Sundell
They let Jalen Sundell come to them and pounced at slot 255. It fills a real need, too.
