Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Packers took Eyabi Okie-Anoma a full 39 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

With quarterback, tight end and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims at No. 25 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick42 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
A reach on Kiran Amegadjie in pick 58; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Fair-plus on Jaden Hicks, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91 Rnd3 Cole Bishop
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 91st pick on Cole Bishop with quarterback, tight end and other spots unsolved.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
They took Isaac Guerendo at par in slot 126, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick127 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at the 127th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169 Rnd5 Layden Robinson
Layden Robinson in pick No. 169 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick202 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
They reached into another round for Trevin Wallace, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick219 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
No drama and no debate, Jordan Magee went about where he belonged in the 219th overall pick. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Eyabi Okie-Anoma
Eyabi Okie-Anoma at No. 245 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick255 Rnd7 Bub Means
Bub Means at Round 7, Pick 35 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
