A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B-.

Nobody had Quinn Ewers this high, and it is not close. The Seahawks reached 41 spots to get him at No. 52. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
Value said wait; Quinn Ewers in slot 52 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
Pick82 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in the 82nd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
They liked Jared Wilson enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 92. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jonas Sanker
Jonas Sanker at pick 137 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick172 Rnd5 Connor Colby
They paid a round early for Connor Colby in Round 5, Pick 34, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 Tyler Cooper
Tyler Cooper in No. 175 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick223 Rnd7 Desmond Watson
They took Desmond Watson at par in the 223rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick234 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
By-the-book stuff, Cam Jackson at slot 234 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
