The tape said wait; the Steelers did not. Eyabi Okie-Anoma went at pick 195, a good 90 picks before the board was ready.

Everything downstream of J.J. McCarthy depends on J.J. McCarthy, and the building knows it. Landing McCaffrey that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The Goncalves pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots still on the board. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
