Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Steelers spent the 195th overall pick on Taulia Tagovailoa, a name the board had a full 92 spots lower. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

With safety, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. The Melton steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
