Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-

The Steelers cashed the board's mistake on Lewis: B-.

Call it larceny. Robert Lewis sat on the board until No. 244, and the Steelers did not need to be asked twice. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

If Guyton pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Spending an early pick on defensive back with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kamren Kinchens
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kamren Kinchens. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick55 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, edge rusher and other spots to take T.J. Tampa, a defensive back that was not the priority.
Pick87 Rnd3 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at No. 87 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick113 Rnd4 Junior Colson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Junior Colson in pick 113. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick123 Rnd4 Tyler Guyton
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tyler Guyton well ahead of where he belonged. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick201 Rnd6 Devin Neal
A tidy bit of business in the 201st overall pick, where Devin Neal graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick244 Rnd7 Robert Lewis
Robert Lewis at pick No. 244 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
