Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueC NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Steelers answered their biggest question with Dart. Grade: B-.

Start where it matters. The Steelers took Jaxson Dart to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They will need Robinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing Moore that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In the 21st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick83 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in the Round 3 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
Pick123 Rnd4 Ty Robinson
A real head-scratcher, Ty Robinson in pick 123 is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick156 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Taking Malachi Moore in Round 5, Pick 18 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick185 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 185 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
Pick229 Rnd7 Ja'Corey Brooks
Ja'Corey Brooks in slot 229 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
