This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cobee Bryant, the No. 181 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 13.

Sanders has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Emeka Egbuka in the Round 1 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick52 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in pick 52 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick83 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan Phillips in slot 83, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

The board had cheaper options than Mello Dotson at the 122nd pick, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Nick Nash at Round 5, Pick 24. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

A big swing on Shilo Sanders at pick No. 225, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Cobee Bryant in No. 231, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.

They reached a country mile for Quinn Carroll at the 247th overall pick, and the board is aghast. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
