There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Jarrian Jones a full 29 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. It is not that Puni is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Owens.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
