FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Steelers. It is a puzzling start. The Steelers had quarterback, safety and other spots to solve and reached instead for Kiran Amegadjie, an offensive lineman, at No. 57.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Davis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. McGregor at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 26 they get a true top target. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick51
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at Round 2, Pick 19 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick57
Rnd2
Kiran Amegadjie
Of all the spots to shop, they chose offensive lineman. Kiran Amegadjie in pick 57 leaves quarterback, safety and other spots for later.
Pick84
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at pick No. 84 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick119
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at the 119th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick178
Rnd6
Braiden McGregor
They read the board right and Braiden McGregor was the payoff at the 178th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick195
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
A tidy little value on Curtis Jacobs in No. 195, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
